Some mothers are still children themselves, and need lots of help. We offer counseling and Christian discipleship as well as pre-natal care and job training. Mothers can succeed as parents when they are single if they have support and a safe enviornment. But they have to come out of their immoral lifestyle and get help.
Children Everywhere. When we go into the poorer areas it still amzazes us to see so many children. Most of them seem quite happy, but we locate parents who need help. Some mothers have no hope and find themselves all alone. We get to tell them about Jesus Christ and help them in livelihood training.
Workfare . Projects for single moms help the family toward stability. Welfare usually does not teach responsiblity or promote change. Workfare offers change through effort. We are developing products so that women like this can make products at home so that they can also care for their children without the additional expense of day care.
Visitation. Mothers who surrender their children have 6 months before it is binding. Most never visit more than once, but some mothers go on to study and train in our skills for life program.
Home with a new mother . Some mothers have to make a decision that is hard. We counsel for the best way to meet their child's needs. Often it is in a new home for permanent care by adoptive mommies and daddies.
